Dear Members, We hope you and your families are having an awesome spring season! A couple of anticipated communications form our Management Team, Committees, and Board. 2023 Annual Report. It will contain the most relevant data such as participation in club events, sports activities, and dining. There will be a section where the financials highlights will be reported as well. The report will be shared digitally, and we will have paper copies distributed at the Club, for those that are interested.
Strategic Survey. We are in the process of creating a survey that will help the Committees and Board in pursuing the most relevant strategic objectives such as quality of the facilities, membership profile, and financial planning. We will reach out to you with a specific message that will include a link - it is extremely important to know that your participation to this survey is crucial in taking the best decision for the entire membership. Thank you in advance for your valuable contribution!
Important expectation for golfers – Golfing shoes must be changed in the locker rooms. Our parking lot is not a changing room – we understand this is a special area of California, and throwing golfing shoes in the back of a truck may feel convenient, that is not an action that qualifies our country club. The golf professional team will address this topic with every guest to make sure we will not witness this anymore. With kindest regards, Arnaldo Cocuzza, CCM General Manager/COO |

WOMEN’S MEMBER-MEMBER
The ladies held their Spring Member-Member on Tuesday and Thursday of last week. The first day, the partners played a best- ball and the second day format was a scramble. The Ladies had a Masters theme with plenty of green and yellow decorations. Helen Rehm and Ann Paredes were the lowest-gross winners with a score of 151. The champions of this event, which is the low net, were Sheri Hauck and Arlene Yost shooting a sparkling two-day total of 131. Congratulations ladies!

GOOD LUCK TEAM! Congratulations to SLOCC’s 9.0 mixed doubles 18 and over team that have made it to the Southern CALIFORNIA sectionals April 19-21 in Irvine! Team members who did not make it into the picture but played and were great support: Sara Leeder, Vanessa Higgins, Kristin Newsom, Bill Dunkle, Jason Vanclef, and Michael Hicks.
With the division being 18+, we are expecting a lot of great ex-college players and tough matches but we have a strong team! Wish us luck! |

| TRY A TIMED WORKOUT
Often, we get into a routine, and we keep the same number of reps and sets and only see improvement when we increase the weight. To spice up a routine, try a timed workout. It’s also called interval training. Instead of counting reps, you do as many reps or sprints as possible in specified time and then have a timed recovery/rest period. A great interval training to start with is 20 seconds exercise and 10 seconds rest for 3 to 8 sets (rounds).
This 20-10 interval was made popular by Tabata, a Japanese speed skating coach. You can choose any exercise but make sure you have a weight that you have complete control of, and your form is proper. You will experience body fatigue as you progress through your sets, so watch your form. In most cases you will also see a reduction in the time of the total workout as your rest period will seem short. |
